Gergens Jean Polynice, MS, MA, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Gergens Polynice is the Chief Executive Officer of CléMetric, a software company that analyzes healthcare data in near-real-time. Gergens provides the leadership and vision to ensure that the company is on the right track from a technical and operational standpoint. In his vision of consuming Big Data, he wears the customer and the scientist’s hats for delivering solutions that foster better care and safer patients at lower cost. He oversees strategic partnerships including that of IBM for Streaming Analytics and Cognitive Computing with Watson Health.

Gergens has extensive experience in data analytics, software engineering and research. He specializes in uncovering valuable insights from quantitative and qualitative data to tackle key healthcare challenges. He has worked in the areas of software engineering, management consulting, and predictive analytics. Prior to co-founding CléMetric, he worked for Ernst & Young and Ariba Technologies in implementing IT projects for Fortune 500 companies. He is an expert in advanced data modeling and in the implementation of large-scale systems. His interest is in extracting value from medical data to improve outcomes and efficiency.
Gergens earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a research focused on predictive data analytics. He is the recipient of the UW-Madison’s Global Health Institute Research Award. He also holds MS and MA degrees.

Sharath Cholleti, MS, Ph.D

Chief Data Scientist & Technology Officer

Sharath Cholleti, Ph.D., is a seasoned computer science researcher, consultant, and software engineer with expertise in machine learning, Big Data analytics, and real-time systems. As a co-founder of CleMetric, he leads the development of scalable real-time analytics solutions by integrating data science techniques with distributed systems technologies and visualization software. Prior to CleMetric, Dr. Cholleti held a senior scientist position at Emory University where he was very fortunate to work with Dr. Timothy Buchman and Dr. Joel Saltz. He conducted research and developed machine learning and real-time analytics systems for various medical applications. The projects covered multiple areas including patient monitoring in intensive care units, readmission analytics using electronic health record data, brain tumor classification using high resolution pathology images, and motif discovery in glycomics array data.

Prior to Emory University, Dr. Cholleti was at Washington University, St. Louis, where he earned his doctoral degree in computer science with special emphasis on machine learning, image analysis and data analysis under the guidance of Dr. Sally Goldman. He ventured into medical data mining by collaborating with Dr. Fred Prior at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Cholleti published numerous research papers in the field of computer science and data analytics.

Georgia Ditzenberger, RN, NNP-BC, Ph.D.

Director of Clinical Research & Medical Advisor

As the Medical Advisor and Director of Clinical Research, Dr. Ditzenberger provides expertise to ensure clinical validity of the various CleMetric software features and works closely with the leadership and technical teams to maintain high quality standards. Ditzenberger provides clinical guidance to enhance the efficacy of CléMetric-developed technology integrated into our customers’ medical practices. She supports and provides leadership for new research and encourages collaboration for research incorporating technology-supported clinically based approaches to promote optimal patient care and improved patient outcomes.

With an extensive background primarily devoted to the management of critically-ill patients in intensive care setting, Ditzenberger brings a wealth of clinical expertise that provides added veracity to the practical clinical applications of CleMetric’s state-of-the-art technology. She has vast educational experience and provides both formal and informal presentations for medical, nursing and ancillary health care professionals, residents and students. She has been involved in numerous research and quality improvement projects as principal investigator, co-investigator, advisor, or major contributor. She proactively encourages and supports research that furthers optimal, timely and effective patient care.

Ditzenberger earned her Ph.D. from the University of Washington-Seattle School of Nursing, focusing on research and education. She also earned a dual master degree as neonatal nurse practitioner and perinatal nurse clinician from the University of Washington-Seattle. She is the recipient of the first University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation Advanced Practice Nurse Excellence in Education award and has received grants supporting research and education in premature infant nutrition and neonatal resuscitation.
